Mr and Miss Benoni has been one of the East Rand’s most iconic community events, and 2026 marks its 48th unforgettable season. Originally established as the Miss Benoni Beauty Pageant, what started as a local pageant has grown into a true community institution, bringing together young men and women from across Benoni and the wider East Rand to compete not just for a title, but for the chance to grow, give back, and represent something bigger than themselves. For over 32 years the event has been carefully organised and developed by a dedicated team passionate about empowering individuals and uplifting the community, and 19 years ago the competition evolved to include male contestants for the first time – officially introducing the Mr Benoni title and transforming the event into the dynamic, inclusive platform it is today.

Presented by Rampage Modelling Agency, the competition is built on the belief that modelling is about far more than the runway. Rampage’s philosophy; inspiring and empowering individuals of all ages through education that builds self-confidence, elegance and lifelong personal development sits at the heart of everything this season represents. Training out of their studio in Rynfield, Rampage doesn’t just prepare contestants to walk a stage; they prepare them to own it.

But at its heart, Mr and Miss Benoni has never just been about the crown. It’s a purpose-driven initiative, run solely for a charitable cause – a glamorous showcase, yes, but just as much a meaningful fundraising platform for the community it represents.

This Season

This year’s 40 finalists have earned every second of their moment on stage. Starting with the semi-finals, they committed to weekly rehearsals at the Rampage Studio, took part in team-building activities, and were involved in two official shoots — their official finalist shoot with event photographer Richard O’Donoghue, and a lifestyle shoot at Cielo with our official media team, MC Creatives. Along the way, they were treated to a sponsored lunch at Flyerz, and took part in a Charity Day, taking underprivileged children on an outing to the Bird and Monkey Park.

Throughout it all, the biggest part of this year’s journey has been the contestants’ fundraising for the Knights Charity Association – a registered Non-Profit Company based right here in Benoni, dedicated to supplying people in need across the community. Everything raised this season has gone toward supporting the Zenzele community and the School Supply Project, helping provide essentials and school supplies to those who need them most. The contestant who raises the most for charity is awarded the title of Mr/Miss Debutant.

The Crowning

It all comes together on the 26 September 2026 at the stunning ANEW Hotel & Convention Centre OR Tambo in Lakefield, Benoni, a brand-new home for this year’s show.

Every finalist is backed by a local business sponsor, each one becoming part of the Mr and Miss Benoni family in return, and the night brings the season to its final, unforgettable stage.

This year’s total prize value exceeds R300,000, awarded across Mr Benoni 2026 and his First and Second Runners-Up, Miss Benoni 2026 and her First and Second Runners-Up, Mr/Miss Debutant, Mr/Miss Personality, and a special award for the contestant who sells the most tickets.
